Christianity versus Religion

Christianity versus Religion is certainly not a new concept or talking point.  Are we Christian because we go to church?  With so many diverse religions to choose from, do we really know the difference between each?  Sounds confusing but let’s break it down for a better understanding.

Christianity means exhibiting the qualities or spirit of Jesus, especially in showing concern for others.

I believe your salvation and Christian faith is based upon your relationship with God and what you believe, not what religion you are.  The church are the people that attend and welcome God wherever that might be.

“For it is by God’s grace that you have been saved, through faith. It is not the result of your own efforts, but God’s GIFT, so that no one can boast about it.” (Ephesians 2: 8-9) GNT

Religion is an established set of rules and beliefs, a doctrine agreed upon to govern the people of the church and the building.

Our religion is the foundation of where we worship and are taught.  It is important that what we are taught is in agreement what we believe.

Protestant or Catholicism inside each have many religious beliefs.  What does your church believe?  How does that affect your life and your beliefs?

The Bible should be our guide to govern the church not world views.  It doesn’t mean we hate the world but we must love and make welcome persons with a different view point.  Teach them, not condemn for their belief.

 Christian Church

We are the Church. We need church and they are family.  The reason to attend is to worship Him, be fed and get refreshed as told in the Bible.

I believe the role of a church is to pray and teach from the Bible.  Inspiring us to build a relationship with Christ and how to love and serve our community.  For if our focus is on God and His word, then we Christians and our church will not get off track.  In theory it sounds simple.
