Distracted at Christmas

Distracted at Christmas

Have you noticed we tend to get distracted during the time between Thanksgiving and Christmas.  We are so busy trying to make the perfect Christmas, getting ready for company and many extra functions.

We should spend more energy at “Living Towards God”.  After all the season is about Jesus so our focus should be on Him.

Jesus stressed continuously the importance of love.  Take time during the season to love on people as there is nothing more important in life.  Choosing moment by moment to love God, love myself and love all people!  Our challenge is to start our days with God.  Spend our first waking minutes with grateful hearts, praying and loving God.  Ask for the Holy Spirit to lead us during the day.

Show Love

One of my favorite verses in the Bible is Colossians 3:14 (NLT), Above all, clothe yourselves with love, which binds us all together in perfect harmony.

Just imagine in the morning as you get dressed, you also put on Love for yourself, for God and for the world.  The harmony that overflows as a result of those actions will be wonderful!

Devotional – Towards God

Living Towards God, Holy Spirit Lead Me!

In this Daily Devotional from my church Community Church of God we are striving to live toward God “in big and small ways.” choosing to love God and to love all people.

My prayer

Lord guide us in taking time to give, share and learn with a holy boldness that reflects you.

Reflection question

What ideas do you have to keep yourself God centered during the holidays or any time?
