Living Gracefully
Ok, so we live in a time where we talk a little snappy, are sarcastic in tone almost to the point of rudeness. Sarcastic talk is the new normal. But our tone can be hurtful to others. I have been a great offender many times.
God has been working on the way I talk. My personal prayer focus has been for my speech to be positive, filled with love and that my response to hurtful comments to me show a good reaction rather than a snappy retort, I am hopefully better but still a work in progress. Jesus showed us great examples in the Bible and in his life.
Let your speech always be gracious, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how you ought to answer each person. Colossians 4:6 (ESV)
God reveals grace every day of our lives. Sometimes we don’t realize he has given us grace until a long time afterwards. It is never too late to thank him for those blessings.
Grace Under Fire
Grace under fire is like the story of Joseph in the book of Genesis. Joseph was hurt deeply by his brothers betrayal but has the grace to transfer the pain into forgiveness and a create a new relationship with his family.
Stop carrying the weight of non-forgiveness around. In our Forgiveness Forward study book they teach us that we should live our lives forgiving others for our personal freedom and peace. This is an also an area of my life I have been radically changing and the process has brought me much peace and comfort.
The obvious grace our Father has given us of course is his son Jesus. Jesus who had no sin in Him sacrificed His life for our sins. That is the ultimate gift if ever there was one.
My prayer!
Thank you Father for your abundant grace. I am filled with your blessings and peace!
