Prayer Changes Everything

My Jesus and Me

Importance of Prayer

Recently there has been a lot in the news about prayer.  The movie “War Room” a blockbuster hit has stirred up much regarding prayer for good reason.  We all should be diligent in our prayer life.  I sincerely recommend watching, it has been released for purchase and rental.

There has also been a great increase in books about prayer, how to pray and where to pray.  I read one

that was a fantastic read “Fervent” By Priscilla Shirer.  She writes of prayer being a “not so secret weapon” and is very straight forward in her writing.  She states that “God deliberately chose prayer as the vehicle that drives His activity in people’s lives.”  I believe prayer is our lifeline to God and is so rewarding, don’t miss out.

“Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.”  (Philippians 4:6-7), NLT

Prayer Changing Lives
Recently, my cousin had a liver transplant.  My other cousins and I formed a Facebook convo to keep informed before, during and after the surgeries.  I believe we all were in constant prayer day and night.  Waking often in the middle of the night, any time thinking of him we sent prayers of healing and restoration for him, his family, the doctors and nurses caring for him too.  His church was praying and vigilantly standing guard over him also.  He ended up with a second transplant, several blood clots and an infection but God faithfully pulled him through as promised.  Last week his sister messaged that when she called, his wife said he was out riding the lawn mower, just a few weeks after being sent home from the hospital.  We have an awesome God!

Always pray

Since then I am still praying as I learned.  I won’t ever give that up.  I have found though that my prayers are not quite the same as the fervent praying we did while my cousin was in crises.  Not sure I want a crises constantly, still it felt good to be so close to God.

My Prayer

Father, never let my prayers cease.  Thank you for answering my prayers.

Reflection question

Do you have any suggestions or praises about your prayer communication?
