De-Spirited Churches

My Jesus and Me

Over a span of years I have found churches are becoming almost indifferent to God’s Word.  I can’t stress how important it is we not grow apathetic to the knowledge of God.  I too am guilty of attending church when I made time, for many years never getting involved and never wanting to grow.  I lacked the will and the Spirit of God’s grace to get interested.  It is time to invite the Holy Spirit back into our services.

Inspirational Growth

We should be inspired for more of life, of Him and how to be the best that we can.

When changing churches last year I visited many before settling on a Bible based church.  Some churches I visited were mega-churches, while others were just average sized.  I found that numerous do not open their Bibles and many sermons’ are about the Word of God and how the speaker interprets it.  It felt so week and more about story telling.  I left wanting more, feeling empty.  Milk toast is what we are being fed from many Church services.

28 So guard yourselves and God’s people. Feed and shepherd God’s flock—his church, purchased with his own blood[a]—over which the Holy Spirit has appointed you as elders.[b(Acts 20:28) NLT

I pray the church and small groups will get back into what the Word says and what he wants for our churches and our lives, not man’s explanation.  If we had some meat from God in the messages, invite the Holy Spirit to join us, then every Church and it’s followers would be as God intended it to be.

The Right Fit

Recently after moving to San Jose, God literally sent me to my currant church Community Church of God.  I am so grateful as I was ready to settle for another church that was closer to home.  Community Church of God is so filled with God’s love!  They teach, preach and pray so passionately, I am making many changes in my life for the better.  They are my church family since the moment I stepped inside.  I hope you have or find the right fit too!

My prayer

Thank you Jesus for Churches deep into your Word!  Thank you for my Church family.

Reflection:

Let’s start praying for our Churches and invite the Holy Spirit to guide us!
