Being Thankful
I am so thankful for life, my family and how awesome it is to be a grandma! I have the privilege of living with two of my older grandchildren. Life is always unexpected, full of laughter and tears. Last month we celebrated another grandsons first birthday and the birth of my newest grandson. God is so good. I was able to absorb their cuddles, see and feel pure joy!
There is something about being a grandparent and seeing your children being good parents that makes life full, a grand double blessing. Life is not perfect and we don’t do everything right. But with good focus and a strong foundation to build on, God can accomplish many things, if we let Him.
Thanksgiving and Remembrance
This scripture has become one of my favorites. Everything the Father does is to allow us to have a joyful life with many blessings.
“All of this is for your benefit. And as God’s grace reaches more and more people, there will be great thanksgiving, and God will receive more and more glory.” (2 Corinthians 4:15, NLT)
I love this quote from an article on thehighcalling.org; by author Ann Voskamp and her book and blog “One Thousand Gifts”.
“Deep chara joy is found only at the table of the euCHARisteo; the table of thanksgiving. The holy grail of joy, God set it in the very center of Christianity. One of Christ’s very last directives He offers to His disciples is to take the bread and wine, and to remember. Do this in remembrance of Me. Remember and give thanks.”
I love how she explains the communion as the holy grail of Joy and thanksgiving. Please Lord let us always remember You.
How simple it seems. The problem I have is in letting go, I like being in control. I want it both ways God’s way but with my control. I mess it up every time when I don’t give my all to Him daily.
Lord, Let me remember what you have given us and yet to give. Let your love shine on us and through us.
