Eve – WOTB # 7

Faces of Eve

In Women of the Bible – Eve means “Life,” is referred to as “A Woman of Unique Distinction” and she was made in “His own image” is from the bone of Adam and considered equal to him. Her story is found in Genesis and is also mentioned in the New Testament.

Eve is known for a series of firsts. She was the First Woman to live on the earth, a product of divine creation. She was never a child, or a daughter or a maiden and her daughter was the first female born. She was an original ancestor to all people, paving the way for all women. In motherhood, taking care of the land, caring for the animals. She proved that by loving, having faith, charity and holiness you can be redeemed.

While she may have been the first to be without sin. She faced temptation and failed but her fall from grace showed us how easy it is to fall into sin and how hard it is to live with the consequences. Life was not perfect for her after allowing sin into their lives. She stands out as one who can rise above her transgression. Her sin affected Adam, her children and all generations thereafter.

Thank you Father! You are more than enough and your grace is sufficient to overcome our failures.
