Solidarity
My life with Jesus is better when I am in continual communication with Him. Whether it be in prayer, in the Word or at church. I spent many years believing and going to church when I felt like it. But life is much richer when you live in solidarity with community in all relationships.
Many sermons, small groups and studies I attended the last few years have opened my eyes to how I was just going through the motions of life. Barely touching on what God wanted for my life. His Word now has more meaning and understanding than ever before. If my mind or heart are not continually on Him I feel alone and lost.
In the Bible it says we are the church and the Bible is our instruction to living a Godly life. The book of Romans is chalk full of everyday living! We did a study on “True Spirituality”, I loved it and recommend it along with reading the book of Romans. It explains so much about life and Jesus. Romans has been truly eye-opening, I had a light bulb moment you get when the puzzle pieces fit together.
2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect. (Romans 12:2 NASB)
Becoming a Romans 12 Christian shares a practical living guide to surviving both the world’s law and God’s law. I always thought it was the book of Proverbs that gave us the best instruction and guide to a good and full life. But as we grow with God we find a wise word everywhere in the Bible not just parts.
The Bible has also inspired many songs, I remember back quite a few years ago a fun popular song, “Basic Instruction Before Leaving Earth.” by Burlap to Cashmere.
Another song favorite when just a girl was The B-I-B-L-E song. Songs learned as kids withstand the test of time.
Lyrics
The B-I-B-L-E,
Yes that’s the book for me,
I stand alone on the Word of God,
The B-I-B-L-E.
The B-I-B-L-E,
Yes that’s the book for me,
I read and pray, trust and obey,
The B-I-B-L-E.
Oh Lord, thank you for knowledge, instructions and for standing solidly with me. You are my good God!
